Mira Lehr, again, takes us to her new frontier. The movement of the sea, its tides, and its photic zone where ocean organisms dwell, brings together this new work. Her choice of elements include resin, nylon rope, jute hemp, copper wire and Japanese paper used in intriguing forms. Vastly acclaimed for her painted representations of nature's less tangible and more baffling nuances, Lehr's current work dives further into the ephemeral.

Lehr is a graduate of Vassar College and studied painting with the renowned Robert Motherwell, James Brooks, James and Nieves Billmyer. Lehr has been called "the mistress of light" by 60 Minutes correspondent, Morley Safer, "the spiritual heir to O'Keeffe in the London Times Literary Supplement. In 1969, Lehr was an original participant with Buckminster Fuller on the first World Game Scenario Project. Critic, Eleanor Heartney wrote, "For Lehr's optimistic vision of reality, her association with Buckminster Fuller is key as she absorbed the sense that ideas and creativity can change the world and that human beings are meant to be a success on this planet."
